October is Healthy Workplace Month!

A Healthy Work Day Check List: Eat Right– It only takes a few minutes to prepare healthy snacks and pack a home-made lunch. Planning ahead will help fuel your mind and body through the day.

Drink Up– We all know proper hydration has many benefits. Keep a water bottle on your desk and monitor how your water intake increases.


Sit Up– Workplace ergonomics can reduce the strain placed on your body. Remember to periodically check in with your posture throughout the day.


Stretch it Out– There are many stretches ( like these neck or low back ones)you can do with out leaving your desk. Create a routine to incorporate stretches into your day. Here are some examples.

Walk it Out– There are many ways to increase the number of steps you take during your work day: take a walk to the water cooler, take the stairs or take a walk around the block on your lunch hour.

Leave it Behind– At the end of the day separate your work from the rest of your evening. Take the time to focus on family, friends and yourself to maintain a balance between work and life.  Find what makes your day complete whether it is dinner with the family, making the time to exercise, a round of golf,  or taking a moment to relax.
